Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars, debuted in 1991 in the UK on the BBC, as well as in the United States, and was created by Sunbow Productions, Abrams/Gentile Entertainment, Continuity Comics and IDDH it was based on the cult comic Bucky O'Hare. Animated by AKOM, the show is remembered for its distinctive and popular theme tune. Most of the ideas from the comic book were used for the cartoon, with three major differences: Bruce is transported into another dimension instead of killed, Willy can travel freely between Earth and the aniverse, and the omnipotent mouse is nowhere to be seen. The cartoon explored more of the aniverse and followed a loose unifying arc, with Bucky's home planet of Warren being captured by the toads in the season premiere and rescued in the finale.

Although it is not the first television movie to have gay themes, it is the first about gay marriage. The movie was filmed in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Weed Wars is an American reality-documentary television series that documents the world's largest medical marijuana dispensary, Harborside Health Center, in Oakland, California. The series premiered on the Discovery Channel on December 1, 2011. The series has since been cancelled. In regards to their intentions by allowing their business to be documented for television, Steve DeAngelo has said, "We wanted to be a model to other dispensaries, most of [which] have a media phobia. We wanted to tell our story and we gave Discovery complete access so that people could make up their own minds... There are a lot of stereotypes about who comes to these dispensaries, but viewers will see our customers cover a huge cross-section of the population – age, race and economic classes. They will also see how Harborside treats cannabis as a medicine, and we have a high standard of medical care."
